The design of the Bamiyan Cultural Centre was conceived upon a sensitive and sympathetic approach to the local scenario. Everything around the site contributes to the composition of a magnificent ode that celebrates the historical heritage of Bamiyan

lts primordial intention is to be simple, mute, an architecture of no interference on the valley landscape. To achieve this camouflage behavior, the whole Centre is composed by a one story construction, engraved in the soil. The building 's ceilings, by their tum, create a sequence of terraces that always face the Buddha cliff.

The main idea was to merge natural relief and construction in a unique system, considering that the buildings - engraved in the soil - are itself, the natural's relief continuation.

This continuous space encourages people to flow within a new cultural point of rendezvous - an urban park, linked to the city through the main access promenade and the pedestrian footpaths, all leading to a sequence of terraces
