Retrofit
Retrofitting the Embassy's Official Residence to unify accessibility, functionality, and historical preservation
As the primary representational space of the Embassy, the renovation of the Official Residence focused on creating a fully accessible route from the main entrance to the interior reception areas. The existing residence, originally built across multiple levels to follow the natural slope of the site, presented accessibility challenges that the retrofit sought to overcome.
The main kitchen was completely renovated to support both large-scale catering for official events and daily use by the resident family, ensuring flexibility and efficiency.
Key historically significant spaces were carefully restored or enhanced in alignment with preservation guidelines established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reaffirming the residence’s architectural and cultural value.
