Full renovation of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Brasília, a historic modernist landmark from the 1960s
Originally built in 1965 for the former Yugoslavia, the property consisted of three buildings, now divided among three independent nations.
he renovation project was carried out in carefully planned phases to ensure the Embassy remained fully operational throughout the construction period. The work honored the architectural integrity of the original modernist design by Alexander Brezovski.
In the first phase, the Chancery and Consulate were relocated from a separate building to the original Official Residence. The second phase involved a full renovation of the Residence and the addition of a diplomat’s apartment within the existing footprint of the house.
The comprehensive renovation included the creation and upgrade of multiple office spaces, meeting rooms, consular and representational areas, a library, archives, storage and security zones, an industrial kitchen, and private residential quarters for the Ambassador and family. A three-bedroom apartment for a diplomat was also integrated into the layout. The project featured the complete replacement of existing aluminum window frames, roof waterproofing, and the installation of new HVAC and water heating systems.
